Description
Keraflex Extra S1 is a flexible adhesive cement consisting of a gray or white powder, composed of cement and fine-grained sand. It contains a high quantity of synthetic resins and special additives, according to a formula developed in MAPEI's research laboratories.
FEATURES
Keraflex Extra S1 mixed with water forms a mortar with the following characteristics:
- Ease of implementation
- Highly thixotropic: Keraflex Extra S1 can be applied to a vertical surface without sagging and without risk of tiles slipping; the tiles can therefore be laid from top to bottom without using wedges.
- Good capacity to absorb differential deformations between the tiles and the support.
RECOMMENDATIONS
- Do not use Keraflex Extra S1 in the following cases:
- On wood and wood conglomerates
- on metal, rubber, PVC and linoleum surfaces
- On natural stones sensitive to humidity
- On concrete subjected to strong movements
APPLICATION AREAS
Bonding, indoors and outdoors, of ceramic tiles of all types and sizes (tiles, terracotta tiles, porcelain stoneware tiles) and natural stones (provided they are not sensitive to humidity), on vertical and horizontal surfaces susceptible to deformation, as well as on rough surfaces and plaster, without prior leveling, up to a thickness of 15 mm. It is also suitable for point bonding of insulating materials such as expanded polystyrene, fiberglass and rock wool, Eraclit® (cement-bonded particle board), acoustic insulation panels, etc.
Some application examples
- Bonding of ceramic tiles (double-fired, single-fired, porcelain, clinker, etc.) and stone tiles (provided they are not sensitive to humidity) on conventional supports likely to deform, such as:
- Cement screeds, even with underfloor heating installations.
- Anhydrite screeds, pre-treated with Primer G or Eco Prim T.
- Cement or lime and cement mortar coatings
- Single-layer plasterboards
- plasterboard, provided that it is securely fixed
- Ceramic and stone tiles on existing floors (ceramic, marble, etc.)
- Installation of floors subject to heavy traffic
